My series with Dutch music from the 16th to the 18th century.
The original title of this piece composed by Emilio de Cavalieri, was "oche nuovo miraculo", composed for the Grand duke Ferdinando of Tuscany.
There is also a setting by Peter Philips and variations by Frescobaldi. There are some lute settings too (!)
