Intro to Cinema 4D - Tutorial
Today, I run through the basics of setting up a scene in Cinema 4D and rendering an image. We are gonna make this abstract sphere scene above using HDR lighting, The Mograph module, and Global Illumination.

HDR makes everything look pretty!
I downloaded the demo of Cinema 4d the other day and wasn't able to figure out much with it on my own, i learned Maya in uni but wasn't fussed on it so have been using blender as it's the only one i can afford at the moment :)
You know about Chris Smith's CS Tools?
circlesofdelusion.blogspot.com/2007/09/cstools-full-docs.html
Would love to see more tutorials on implementing these alongside Mograph. Currently playing with them and a coffee bean!
I basically wanna try C4D because ive heard it is so much more intuitive than other softwares. Getting a final Render like this out of Maya or 3Ds Max is such a burden!
Works in C4D v.10
When adding this texture to C4D v.11
you just get a red outline in the material editor ?
For some reason its not possible to ad EXR to v.11 this way?
Any idea.
thx

Cinema 4D isn't popular here in Japan, so it's tough to find nice websites and tutorial like this...
Using boxes instead of spheres turns out to produce less interesting reflections..
Anyone knows why? Is it because of the flat surfaces of a box?

This is what I came up with after watching this tutorial:

This is the first time using the C4D for me, it's better than anyother 3d program for beginners.
