A Garden 2002

A Garden 2002

Yang Minha

Since the time when the humans started to imitate the nature, the nature and the machine civilization became inseparable in their progress.
If the man-made machines work in the boundaries of the nature, should we accept the machines as a part of the nature?
As the magic and the machines that are wrapped with wind-up springs wounded the human nature in the past, the machines in the present are recognized as a part of the human civilization and shows continuity between itself and the humans.
Even though, the human evolution was and still is relied upon the development of tools and machines, the humans still deny the continuity between machines and themselves.

‘A Garden’ is a man-made replica of the Natural Environments. Through this, the nature and the human creations are placed in the same environment, and by observing these two, the humans find the continuity between the nature and their own creations.
