Research has revealed several issues that color attitudes about adolescent immunization. These include professional buy- in issues, adolescent buy-in issues and delivery factors related to vaccines. Immunization rates fall off dramatically during adolescence (ages 11–19). Improving these rates requires addressing these intertwined issues as well as advocacy on the part of all health professionals.
