Maryanne was born into this HIPHOP movement. She'd sit in her room listening to artists such as Queen Latifa, SWV, and Salt & Pepa; however, when times changed, so did her musical influences. Some compare her sense of expression to Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, and many other neo-soulful artists, but I beg to differ because when you listen closely, you can actually hear that Maryanne is simply Just Mary.
