Victoire Ingabire is a Rwandan woman. She has spent the past year and a half in the Kigali prison. Her trial proceedings have now begun and everything seems to indicate that a life sentence is her best bet. Ingabire’s crime is none other than to have had the audacity to confront the all-powerful Rwandan president Paul Kagame. She moved ahead from the diaspora and run for president in the August 2010 elections after 15 years in exile in Holland. The documentary focuses primarily on Victoire Ingabire’s “suicide” journey but also of another fighter against the Rwandeese status quo: Joan Carrero, who had been investigating the genocide in the Great Lakes region for years and filed legal action that resulted in charges being pressed against Paul Kagame’s government.
