SYNOPSIS
To provide students a meaningful way to learn about the history of African-Americans, students at Millstone River Elementary School in West Windsor-Plainsboro create a play that they take on tour to the district's six elementary schools. It enhances the students’ understanding of African-American history, and it increases their skills in public speaking, movement, rhythm and music making.

PRODUCER'S COMMENTARY:
I produced this segment for the 2009-2010 season of the public television series, Classroom Close-up, NJ, a 30-minute weekly magazine program focusing on innovative education happening in New Jersey's public schools.
