“The Long View”, a DVD produced by Nottingham Civic Society illustrates the streetscapes and skyline views which go to make up so much of the character of the city. The DVD forms part of the Society’s Skyline project which has been ongoing over a number of years.

The DVD is intended to raise awareness of the individuality of the city from within and is intended to act as a planning aid which can be used to assess the impact of proposed new developments on the city, its character and its views.

The DVD comprises several sections: an introductory overview of the city and its character, followed by more specific sections relating to corridors and approaches to the city which may be impacted on by development
