The Seattle P-I, like too many newspapers across the country, has been forced to shut down operation.

Though the paper will continue in an online form, the loss of one of Seattle's most beloved news sources will be felt deeply by many.

Paul Joseph Brown and Andy Rogers, P-I photojournalists, share their thoughts on their future and that of journalism.

I am worried about the future of journalism and news reporting. I keep hearing how blogging and citizen journalism is the future but can't seem to find a whole lot of original content or analysis. Websites like Huff - Post have gotten a free ride far too long, it is time they start paying if they quote headlines from other news organizations. Beautiful documentary BTW.

Awesome video, Braden! I loved Kipp's music, too! Very fitting.

    Great piece. Very moving.

Can I ask how you got such clean audio? What are you using?

    Thanks!

    Thanks,

I used a sennheiser mke400 shotgun recorded in camera. It was set about 4 feet from the speaker. The music was recorded in pro tools with two condensers on the guitar.

I just got laid off from my job as a newspaper photographer a couple weeks ago. I'd been there 12 years. Your video is well-executed, touching, and VERY relevant. Thank you for your work.

Why do they not understand that quality photos / photojournalism is just as important online. Why are online sites using such bad photography? It is just as competitive as print, and the imagery still needs to be compelling and grab the viewer (if not more important) with the use of slideshows... the web can feature unlimited photos....
Great video. Unfortunately too real and such an awful time. For some reason the upper ups think that all this creative work just magically appears, and anyone who owns a digital camera can take a photo. I am scared to see what will happen to the quality and content of the web if we keep going in this direction.
Thanks for taking the time to create such a compelling video that highlights how this creative work was done... very often behind the scenes.
