Notes: Words to jiggle, move, and narrate with their physicality, bringing weight back into digital text. Animated with words made entirely out of green Jell-O, Friday Night Fish Baked Potato lets the weight of language flop, flounder, and re-form, exploring child-like wonder of the alphabets digital landscape. Video footage of Jell-O was used in combination with programmatic manipulations in the programming language, Processing, to compose this piece. This is the first 4 minutes of a longer piece (total: approximately 7 minutes). This work was made possible with support from the Banff Centre, where an early version of it premiered in February, 2011. Music by Arliss Parker.
