[David Redhead] So no hat?
[Roisin Murphy] No hat for me tonight.
[David Redhead] Why not?
[Roisin Murphy] I know I usually have a hat. I actually didn’t get a chance, I did not get a chance to go and borrow one or buy one so here I am. I made my own hat with my hair.
[David Redhead] That’s pretty good actually. I wish I could do that with my hair. So, what about the rest of the outfit? Who's that by?
[Roisin Murphy] The rest of the outfit is by Alexandre Vauthier and I walked in his show a couple of weeks ago at Couture Week in Paris.
[David Redhead] And are you, you are a hat wearer normally?
[Roisin Murphy] I am yes.
[David Redhead] And are you, do you have a favourite hat designer?
[Roisin Murphy] I mean I wear a very lot of Christophe Coppens, who’s a Belgian hat designer, but he makes like weird accessories as well and he’s very conceptual, he’s a genius. I’ve worn a lot of Stephen’s hats even in videos. I had a whole video that was really based around a lot of Stephen’s hats. And I think my favourite hat that I own is surprise, surprise by Philip Treacy. It’s just a white circle but it’s weaved white straw and it’s the way it’s moulded - it’s just divine, it's just gorgeous.
[David Redhead] So hats, why do people need them?
[Roisin Murphy] I mean why do people not wear more hats? I mean that really is the question, I don’t know because look, the man is a genius. I mean it finishes an outfit off.
