Nice. I like the color in the street (I'm also into cyan-greenish looks).

    Salud!
  • Matheus Siqueira plus 8 months ago
The street was splendid by itself! If you have the chance to visit São Paulo you'll see it. With the Cyan-greenish look it looks even better!

Nicely done Matheus.. You made Sao Paulo look different for some reason. I'm Brazilian as well and I'll have to say, great job with the translation! I'm looking to save up for a camera and hopefully get some scripts out in the near feature..

    Keep us updated ;) []s
  • Matheus Siqueira plus 8 months ago
The idea is to make São Paulo a Scenic World..lol... Ah! The translations is a great job by my friend Cléderson Perez.

About you buying a camera, buy it asap and send me the material after you edit it! There are few brazilians producing videos for vimeo.

    Um grande abraço!

What microphone did you use to record the dialog of the actor? It sounds good. Was it the built-in camera mic? Also what camera did you use to shoot it. Thanks! Feel free to check out my videos. I use a Canon HG20 now.
  • Matheus Siqueira plus 8 months ago
The audio was a funny story, we used a very cheap boom connecting to an Edirol R9 and a lapel mic connected to the camera, the end result was a mix of both. We shot it with a Sony Fx1. I'll sure check out your videos!
    Cheers!
  • Reuben Bucuresteanu 8 months ago
Thanks! What lapel mic (make and model)? i like the sound quality. I have a Rode NTG-2 boom mic but i think your sounds better. lol
  • Reuben Bucuresteanu 8 months ago
    Also you shot 24p right?
  • Matheus Siqueira plus 8 months ago
Well, the lapel mic is a cheap $10 dollar version, and about the boom, I'm craving for a Rode NTG-2 boom. I believe the good sound is because we recorded it uncompressed on the sound recorder.

  • Mahmut Akay 8 months ago
That was really well done, quite inspiring. It maintained documentary-like realism whilst almost paying homage to Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu.

Great narrative piece, absolutley loved it.
  • Matheus Siqueira plus 8 months ago
Wow! Comparing to Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu is more than an honor!

    Thanks!

Very good start to the story, it has me really wanting to know what will happen next. Nothing to comment on as far as visual or sound, everything is very well done!

(I only speak english and spanish) I have a friend that lives in Salvador and I never noticed until now but I understand a lot of the words!
  • Matheus Siqueira plus 8 months ago
Thats great! Now you can catch some subtleties that is lost in translation!

Yes, I was surprised also when in the US selling subways some spanish speakers (only) came in and we started talking.lol

  • Fermina Daza 8 months ago
Friggen Awesomness. The interplay of Beiruts (the band and actual location) gives an interesting duality to the singular word. Color is vibrant, shots are organic (makes for a cool shaky moving image). And the narrative complements the style... which contributes to kinetic and not just potential energy!
