CSTAP 2008 ROSI Presentation
I am the Director of the Consumer Satisfaction Team Alliance of Pa, CSTAP. Our work is part of the nonprofit organization, Pennsylvania Mental Health Consumers' Association, PMHCA, a statewide membership organization representative of the individual and collective expression of people who have recovered or are recovering from mental illness.
This is a presentation I made with Proshow Producer as an "executive summary" to suppliment a peer-driven report we created by having teams of self-disclosed persons in recovery facilitate face-to-face interviews of consumers/survivors using the public mental health system. That report is on our website, cstap.org. We resist the status-quo of powerpoint boredom, so attempted to make a big splash with this vision.
My artistic intent is to make a powerful impression on authorities and other vested stakeholders that can call for the improvement of these systems so to encourage inspiration and motivation to reduce stigmatizing and descriminating "treatment" and community cultures and preserve the dignity and importance of celebrating the expertise of individuals who have a lived experience with mental illness. Recovery is an important journey for all suffering and needs to be instituted for all behavioral/mental health treatment environments and in our communities as a whole.
