In 2009 Earth Hour has the goal of motivating 1 billion people around the world to switch off their lights for one hour from 8.30-9.30pm on Saturday 28 March. Now in its third year Earth Hour’s goal is to send a powerful global message that it is possible to take action on climate change. In 2009 this event is supported by the United Nations and UNEP
