Lew Cooper shares haiku he has written on top of Hawk Hill, in the Marin Headlands in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. During the annual fall migration of raptors, Lew volunteers with the Golden Gate Raptor Observatory as the head of a team of Hawkwatchers, who are witnessing and recording the river of raptors that flows through the Golden Gate.
I recorded an interview with Lew about his lifetime love of birds and raptors, and he revealed his previously unknown-to-us talent as a poet.
