These were shot with my HV20 . The outside shots had no direct sunlight and the inside shots were lit with a in-direct 150watt bulb.

Beautiful, fascinating, incredible . . . need I go on and on? Outstanding to watch the pupils (humans AND feline) dilate . . . should call these "Lucasberg's Macro World" . . . /:^))

is this just stock hv20 zoomed in????? or do u use some micro lens?
  • Lucasberg (Joey) plus 2 years ago
This is with a SLR lens in front . Check my profile pictures one is of my set up.

That pic is small, what lens are you using exactly for the macro shots?
  • Lucasberg (Joey) plus 2 years ago
It is a Sigma 180mm F3.5 Macro in a canon mount.

Your supermacro encouraged me to try my eye in supermacro but I'm doing by myself and it's proving to be a lot more difficult that I expected I suppose because of the infinitessimal DOF. !
  • Lucasberg (Joey) plus 2 years ago
I do it my self too. I face the cam on a tripod and flip the lcd forward. I think it will film your lest eye and you can look into the lcd with your right eye. As always DOF is a problem.

I would love to see what you got.
  • Loren Lewis 2 years ago
I did the same, but what I got wasn't worthy of posting. I will try it again though when I get a chance, with my head backed up against a wall to keep it still. Will post the result only if it comes out as good as yours lol

very nice macro shots.... so how did you exactly mount the sigma lens on the camcorder? is there an adapter you can buy?
  • Lucasberg (Joey) plus 2 years ago
No adapter its just put as close as I can get it and the hv20 sees through it.

I would also really appreciate to know what adapter you use.

    did you use cinematic mode?
  • Lucasberg (Joey) plus 2 years ago
I usually shoot in AV mode at F8 for Macro.

how did u get such good shots of the fly without it flying away. when i do macro i usualy have to be about 2 inches away which scares most things. just patience? luck?
  • Lucasberg (Joey) plus 1 year ago
Lots of tries. Most of the time I get close enough and just as it goes in focus it flys away. When you get one that stays it's cool.

    Hi lucasberg,

Can I just attach this lens in my hv20? or do I need to use a step up ring?

    Hope to hear from you.

    Kind regards,

    Johnny
