Enjoy this prototype for a visual story that will serve as the “starting point” of my life infographic (coming soon). My first effort at animating still images and my first autobiographical film project.
“The SS Stubbs” was created in 1990 for a college application and I recently stumbled across it among old papers. When IDEO.org invited a “visual story” of something I want them to know about me, I thought bringing this lil tug, the SS Stubbs, into the 21st century with an animated film would be fun and still very relevant!
Technical:
This was a fun, ambitious adventure- learning a new medium in a short window of time. Please forgive the roughness, primitive toolbox includes: iMovie, iPhoto, Powerpoint. Lots of little stories already on the cutting room floor: The Way of the Tugboat, Inside Lil Tug, Lil Tug Recharges… and more here to be tightened. Welcome feedback/comments.
Acknowledgements:
Special thanks to Kenji Goh for lending his voice talent to this project and deeply grateful for inspired, creative conversations in the ideating process with Diana To, Christopher Douglas, Everett Harper, Reika Goh, Clarissa Fung, Jim Ewing, Loretta Rae and more.
