My friend Brian and I have tossed around dozens short movie ideas but never seem to find the time to actually shoot one. Until now. And yup... out of all our crazy stories, THIS is the one we decided to spend our time to work on. Go figure!

The video was shot using a Canon HV30 with a Letus35 adaptor and Nikon 50mm lens. I used MBL for CC and editing was done on Adobe CS4 Photoshop, AE, and Premiere.

Yup. The key is to shoot something that you have the means to shoot! No budget FTW! Hahaha. The intro logo and title sequence was done in After Effects.

I was hoping flo was going to be a story about that cat.

Very nice job and excellent job technically. The thing I noticed and I am always working on is realistic lighting. Some scenes call for hard light but I found your scenes to all have hard shadows. It screamed to me that this is where you put the one light. I don't mean to sound too critical but I hope you take it as creative feedback. The DOF was amazing and I know how tough it is to work full time, family, and find time to make projects like these so major kudos for your efforts! You are certainly progressing your talents on every project. Nice work.

This was the first time I really tried to incorporate lighting into the composition so your comments are ones I'll keep to help me get better the next time I'm out shooting. However, I gotta say that the hard edge does make for a pretty cool stylistic look.

As you already know, I loved this piece! Amazing use of the Letus35... I would totally give an arm and a leg for one of those, or even one of the less spectacular competing adapters. Amazing work. Looking forward to more. :]

I definitely wouldn't give up your XH, but if you're looking for a smaller camera to learn the ropes on, I totally recommend the HV. Easy to use and you can get really amazing results.

Hahaha! I was waiting to see how long it would take before someone commented about him not washing his hands. :-) Great critique on the actor's sense of urgency. If he were more panicked, it may have helped bring up the tension a bit. Thanks!
