Wow, I had read about the face seams, but I didn't realize they were right between the eyes! Also, I loved seeing the rig on the rat. Pretty cool - nice work - thanks for sharing.

Awesome job! I had kind of a hard time trying to figure out which shots were the before and after towards the end as the cuts started happening faster and faster. But not a huge deal.

Hey Mark, yeah sorry about that. If you download the Quicktime .mov, then you can scrub through to capture all of the detal.

No need to apologize. I still think it's awesome work. I did however try to download you video and stream it but it never would finish loading. This could be because my work connection isn't the greatest.

I am glad you included the Vimeo link. This way I wouldn't need to wait till I got home to see it. Chances are I may of forgot to. Props to you for thinking ahead.

What program did you remove the seams in, i am working with some of the puppet makers and would like to do this myself rather than send to someone.

But in that case, how much would you charge to remove seems and touch up some video?

This is amazing, how did you get the seams on their faces to not flutter when you paint them out?
  • Adam C Sager 1 week ago
Hey Marc. Had we simply painted out the seams, flutter would have been a huge problem... you are right on that. Instead, we pulled the surrounding pixels across the seams using The Foundry's Furnace plugin (works much like Photoshop's healing brush), then heavily blurred the area to reduce flutter, and finally reapplied grain to give it some texture. Each shot certainly presented it's own challenges, but this method typically got us 85% of the way there.

I've also had success using the Box Blur in AE.
Best of luck on your endeavors!
