Approximately 2700 photos from a week-long road trip. Matt, Jon and I traveled from Milwaukee to Laplace, LA, spent a day in New Orleans, drove to Houston, spend a day at the Houston Space Center and the Houston Natural History Museum, drove back to Laplace, then home. 3600 miles total, I think.

For the record, no video was used in the creation of this. It was solely 2700 shutter clicks from my Nikon D300. Some timelapse sections done by hand, some done by the D300's intervolometer.

Song: Fleet Foxes - "Mykonos" (used without permission)

I am awed by the amount of pictures you took for this. Impressive.

This is less than half of the total pictures taken. I took about 6700. The unedited video is almost 11 minutes long, and probably too boring for anyone who didn't go on the trip. And my favorite timelapse section didn't make this cut, mainly because it's 40 seconds long and you need to see the whole thing to get the effect. (Hint: It's driving while the sun is setting)

And Thanks! Glad you liked it.

Love the video, but hate the fact that you are violating the license of Fleet Foxes by using their song without permission. This shows disrespect for an artist I assume you actually like.

This is Hot!!!!! What lens did you use for this and what were your settings?
  • Sam Dodge 1 month ago
I mainly used my Sigma 10-20mm lens. I didn't use any special settings, just made sure to expose the scenes properly and shoot enough pictures so the motion looked good.
