This shows me zipping down the hill, behind a car, and Stu activates the crosswalk just as I and at least one car are approaching it. You'll see the car slam on his brakes and slow down, but it makes you wonder what the lights are for -- it's still way too dangerous.

The crosswalk is activated by just walking through a set of 3-foot-high pylons on either side of the crosswalk -- imagine a James Bond-type bank heist scene. You can't see the red light beam, of course. :)

Even with this lighted crosswalk, a member of City Hall was supposedly still hit a couple of years ago.

So, is it safe? No. Not even close. We need to slow down cars drastically.
