THE BLIND SPOT is a multi awarded psycho thriller short film crafted by Alex Montoya and Raul Navarro and starring Natalia Mateo, Juanjo Díaz Polo and Alejandro Marzal.

A big chunk of the piece was filmed with two rigged Panasonic DVX100 that conformed a semiHD image.

You can see the rig and more production pictures here:

Absolutely fantastic and beautiful film. Subtitles are completely unnecessary in my opinion - anyone can follow every scene because it's so well done. The music and cinematography tell the story. Pro stuff.

Fantástica obra. Me recuerdo lo que había hecho Amenábar con "Tesis", pero creo que tu video hace un impacto parecido en mucho menos tiempo.

that was phenomenal sir. I can't believe you shot this on a dvx.

    Really great photography.

What were your settings if you don't me asking?

That dual cam setup is brilliant, I'll have to try that myself in some future project. I love how the technique used to enhance the quality of the picture also applies to the theme of the movie...

    damn. muy bien. tremendo.
    One question.
How do you get that clip in that aspect ratio? im guessing it is not 16:9. Do you do it in post production?

How does the DVX100 compare to the Sony HVR-Z7 or Z1? Is there a difference in picture quality ?How did you get that cinema look in this film? Any special lenses?

I like the effect of stitching together footage from 2 DVXs in post, but it seems difficult to perfect. There were some scenes near the end where you could see some distortion. That said I absolutely love the look you achieved...I was thinking of goin for a canon XHA-1 but I think with the money I save from buying a DVX I could get an adaptor and maybe some lights.

Impresionante. Un ambiente muy bueno, una forma de rodar genial, el montaje perfecto, un 10. Por cierto soy actor, si quieres para cualquier otro proyecto... lo que quieras.

    Saludos y enhorabuena

In this case a good camera, good lighting, low contrast, slight green cast and low saturation.
