This video shows how to take an HDR file shot with Magic Lantern, and split it into an underexposed and overexposed track which you can then blend in After Effects or some other program. I'm actually not a believer in this approach--I'm fundamentally against intentionally compositing in a non-linear space. That being said, the "right" approach is the one that gives you the best results.
