Strukt was approached to create an outstanding media installation for Mercedes-Benz, the main sponsor of DLD Conference. The goal was to emphasize the importance of the discussed topics and to give the visitors a unique view of our planet.

The Globe presented future technologies, advancements in research and environmental initiatives of Mercedes-Benz, combined with real-time blog headlines and Twitter-feeds. Everybody could post short messages concerning current issues, which were shown immediately “around the Globe”. As these feeds were non-moderated, the Globe showed an uncensored view on the opinions and feelings of the participants.

It is a genial technology ,-could be even a big possibility for something more interesting than the advertising! I would be happy to try it!!!

The advertising was part of the deal. For installations like this you need to find sponsors, since equipment rental etc. can be quite expensive. for us it was great to basically get the chance to realize the installation, and actually, the mercedes-benz messages were only running once in a while.

but we would be interested in art or real-time-information projects involving the globe ... just drope a line.
