Beautifully done. It would have been nice to have an english subtitle. Message still resonates without the words.

I like it. Also don't need subtitles. As for the comment above.

The Director's family lives in CT. It was shot in their basement.

Wow. even without understanding the dialog, the feelings evoked are palpable.

    This was beautifully executed.

    yes. yes. more of this.
    i'd say flawlessly edited.
i was impressed by how many cuts were happening
yet continuity and smoothness never lost. great sounds!
i'd write more but i've got a meeting about a prospective info-mercial with lockheed-martin in a few hours. keep up the good work!

very nice. somewhat ironic that fox is involved in someway, considering its role in druming up support for the war.

I like it without subtitles. We don't need to understand a person's language to understand their humanity.
  • Miky Wolf 2 years ago
Thanks. It's interesting that Shock has become more anti-war as time goes on. We feel more compassion for those Iraqi's who are still stuck under the table.

Excellent. Congratulations to the director, the message is clear, profound. We never see that kind of film.

Congratulations to you too Miky, it's the first of the 6 films I've viewed, I have to see the others, but you have a great sense of editing.

(The film perfectly works without subtitles, but I would be curious to know what they are saying, anyway...)

So powerful and moving! This is a great short film. I'm touched and moved. I will never stop thinking of war as one of the most absurd things in life.

Thank you so much for sharing.

wow miky. I would say that this film is the illustrative example of the power of this medium. This is the kind of work that inspired me to enter into this world in the first place. The editing here magnificently conveys the beauty, the pain and the pure spirit of humanity. don't ever let hollywood dilute your sense of beauty and timing. =)

    Yes very nice short film.
"but I would be curious to know what they are saying, anyway..." Me too, how about some english subtitling?

I'm very amazed by the huge number of people (over 80!!?) that were involved with this short movie! That's about one person for every 3 seconds.
  • Miky Wolf 1 year ago
We considered subtitling of course, but in the end found that the simplicity of the story trumped the need for an actual translation of what they were saying. At times subtitles can be distracting, particularly when the dialogue is simple and the film so short.

here is an idea. if a person watching the film does not speak this language - how about finding a person who does understand and watch the film again with them.

beautifully rendered in every aspect. resonates just as clearly now as when it was made.
  • w.pasman 10 days ago
I don't even know which language they speak. And find someone speaking it, no idea
