Digital Primary Material in Arts and Humanities: Moving Image Archiving, Curation, and Preservation. Presented by Howard Besser, New York University – New York, New York.

How are faculty using archival media in instruction and research? What is involved in archiving, curation, and preservation of time-based media? Professor Besser will discuss what this field is about and will show examples of both the process of maintaining an archival digital media collection as well as the uses made of such collections.

Besser is Professor of Cinema Studies and Director of New York University's Moving Image Archiving & Preservation Program (MIAP), as well as Senior Scientist for Digital Library Initiatives for NYU's Library.
