I love driving sequences in movies and music videos so I purchased a DLSR car mount about two months ago. It sat in my inventory gathering dust until three weeks ago when I decided to give it a try. I couldn't muster the courage of mounting three grand worth of kit on a suction pump only for it to fall off the car :(
I did some research and came across this brilliant piece of kit called the GoPro HD Hero 2. It's a fraction of the cost of an entry-level DSLR and in terms of size, it's like a matchbox. So I decided I had to add this to my arsenal for my own piece of mind.
Video quality-wise, it's nowhere near DSLR footage but it's decent. It shoots HD at 1080 and 720p both 30fps and 60fps and a gimmicky 120fps at a much lower resolution.
As you can see from the footage, it doesn't hold up well with sun glare and the fish-eye effect is annoying!
Verdict - I love it and will be using it where and when using a DSLR would be daunting!
