Who is watching over our precious waters? On New York's Hudson River that man is John Lipscomb of New York Riverkeeper. Filmmaker Zac Nicholson follows John on a patrol and reveals the behind the scenes work that is done to insure polluters don't wreak havoc on our fragile ecosystem. Over the course of a frosty day in early December, the two travel up the Hudson in a skiff and sneak onto Army Corp of Engineers land to document a dump site. The process reveals is both the stark natural beauty of the surrounding environment and the imminent threat to that environment by housing developments and polluters alike. The film is simultaneously an informative piece on environmental activism and a meditative study in solitude.
