Janice Quick presents a program which features a lively discussion of Victorian symbols and superstitions on headstones at Forest Lawn cemetery in Maplewood.
During this casual armchair tour, Janice shares with us an assortment of interesting, historic and sometimes humorous tales from the lives of the persons who rest in peace below the stones.
As an added feature of the program, Janice displays a collection of ornate Victorian ladies’ clothing buttons which were worn during periods of mourning and which portray similar symbols and images as those found on old gravestones.
This project is funded in part or in whole with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on 11/4/08, which dedicated funding to preserve Minnesota’s art and cultural heritage.
