THIS WEEK, WE WILL TALK ABOUT . . .
. . . I contend that all of life is about learning how to let go and trust God; all of life is a preparation for those final minutes, if not seconds, before our death when we literally have to let go of everything we gathered around us during the years that we lived. Learning to let go of the importance of social position, family, financial well-being, or anything else in all of creation is the key to learning how to die well. I love the song where Don Henley sings that there is a reason that he has never seen a death hearse with a luggage rack on the roof. In dying we have to let go of everything other than our trust in God.
