One of the best stands at the SxSW Marketplace was this husband and wife team from Vancouver Canada who have done some amazing work in just over a year. They have build a social network around comic strips, which can be created by people (like myself) who cannot draw AT ALL. Especially in East Asia, I'm noticing that cartoons and strips are becoming an important way of sharing ideas. Pixton is a great step in the right direction and their "Freemium" model is well thought out. It is great that the platform will shortly support automated animation. It will also need to find a way to add sound and music to make this really come alive. What a great initiative. pixton.com
