1. Streets and Music of Sxsw
I took my camera for a day into downtown Austin to film this year's SXSW Music Festival. People flooded the streets and musicians were performing everywhere....its was amazing.....so much excitement!

To capture all this energy, I decided to overcrank my camera to slow down most of the images. I think it created a great contrast and helped to capture what it was like to be there. Watch and let me know what you think!! I'm new to Vimeo and would love to get some comments/feedback! Music by: Andrew Bird.

    Luke,
I manage Fatback Circus and this video is great! Very professional. I like the use of (I'm not sure if these are the right terms) "overcranking" and "undercranking?" And thanks for giving the exposure to my band!

We have a music video here on Vimeo for a song called Dust Bowl Blues. Jabbar Raisani, who worked on Ironman, shot the video with a PMW-EX1, I believe. You should check it out. I know you will recognize one of the shirts in the video! Thanks again man.

    Great work Luke.
I can't believe that walking around the festival with the whole 35mm rig was easy but you got some beautiful shots.
The use and placement of the over-cranked and time-lapse footage really made the video stand out. Thanks.
  • Luke Korem plus 8 months ago
Thanks Joe. Yes, you are EXACTLY right.....walking around with all that equipment was a pain the you know what. :) But, it was worth it!!!

This is AMAZING! I totally loved it. I saw it reposted on this music blog, with some comments on it, so hopefully that'll help you get a wee bit more exposure for it: poursoiblog.wordpress.com/

Hi Luke, can you post the video of Oxe playing in the streets that appears in 00:45 of this video? I want to hear again what they were playing.

    Hey man,
We are putting together a compilation DVD of Fatback Circus videos. Can we use this video as one of them? Of course we will give you credit! And I'll get you a copy once it's done (or more than one copy if you want). Thanks dude.
