The use of the existent buildings classified according to their function, combined with the present infrastructure (water canals, green space and the network of movement), which can be activated or deactivated per hour, entails the Binckhorst clock. Starting at 06.00 with construction industries, until 10.00 all industries, services, governmental and educational buildings are used (apart from the vacant or partially empty ones). From 10.00 to 16.00 Binckhorst is used at its most. At 16.00 the activities are gradually closing until 18.00h, when the majority of them is closed. The network of movement follows the opening and closing time of working buildings with a peak of use between 07.00 to 08.00 and 17.00 to 18.00. These particular hours the water canals are closed so to facilitate the circulation on the roads. The railway functions during the whole day.
