Heritage Square Museum, celebrating the Los Angeles area culture and architecture during the years 1850 - 1950, is proud to announce the construction of their newest exhibit - "Colonial Drug - George A. Simmons, Proprietor". This replica of a corner drugstore during the first half of the 20th century tells the story of this icon of American culture, including fine artifacts of pharmaceuticals, remedies, sundries, cosmetics and fixtures from the period. This video introduction tells the story of George A. Simmons, and the extraordinary journey that took him from Russia through China, and finally to Los Angeles where he opened the original Colonial Drug.
