Mt. Guardian Perendale stud, located south of Kaikoura on the South Island's east coast has been in the Anderson family for four generations. On the PGG Wrightson Stud Tour, we speak with three generations of the family from 92 year old Pam Anderson who still lives on the farm, Tim & Sue Anderson, and their son Woody who has recently come home to the farm.

Tim, president of the Perendale Society of NZ, is a passionate pioneer of many genetic technologies such as the Sheep50K programme, Sheperd DNA parentage, CARLA Salvia test & WormSTAR, not to mention one of the first studs on the SIL programme over 50 years ago.

Tony Glynn, of RuralTV.co.nz, interviews Beef & Lamb's Genetics Specialist, Mark Young, about Sheep Improvement Ltd, and visits Gary McCorkingdale (Waitahuna) and Dave McKeown (Rainbow Station) to find out the benefits they are having from Mt. Guardian Perendales.
