Worldbike has for a decade led the field in developing appropriate bicycle technology for low-resource settings, and is now focused on proving the economic value of bicycles in development. Worldbike has worked in Kenya, South Africa, Cuba, Nicaragua and Senegal. The work of the organization impacts lives on the streets of developing nations, has influenced industry giants, is on display at the Bicycle Museum of America, and was featured in the Cooper-Hewitt Museum exhibit “Design for the Other 90%.” Today, the organization has partnered with UN Habitat to deploy bicycles to haul trash in Kibera, Kenya the second largest slum in Africa.
