To some, Wilfried Van Baelen must appear to be traveling at light speed.

From modest beginnings recording music in an agricultural outbuilding to his pioneering vision behind one of the world's foremost audio technology laboratories, the maverick from Flanders has made a habit of shaking things up. Some are saying that his answer to the spatial audio question signals nothing less than a revolution in the entertainment industry and that Auro-3D has the potential to win favor amongst its top brass. With Lucasfilm and Skywalker Sound now supporting his format, there's little question that the force is with him.
