A few months ago, I was given the opportunity to work on Jack Morton’s new project, the 2012 opening title film for the IVCA (International Visual Communications Association) Awards.
Breaking away from conventional award openers we decided to tackle the open brief by creating a motion piece, inspired by the new and refreshed IVCA award categories.
"The concept was to connect analogue crafts associated with traditional film and video and present them visually in a more modern and digital way." Hugh Ip
We integrated live-action footage, shot in a green screen studio, composited into a fully 3D environment. The use of 3D Animation as the primary basis, allowed more flexibility and control over each shot.
