In a rural corner of northwest Rwanda one vital little rainwater harvesting project is implemented by a stellar cast of organizations and individuals. Heading the initiative on the ground is environmental scientist Jean Pierre NSHIMYIMANA assisted by field director Laura Clauson and by two NGOs, DFGFI & WWHPS CCHIPS.
The film combines miniDV footage (shot 24PA letterboxed on a DVX100 camera) and Super8mm film footage (shot using 64T Ektachrome & 200T Vision2). The filmmaker shot 400 hours of film & video and spent nearly 2 years on-site in order to capture these images. The wider story is slated to be released as a feature documentary film in mid 2010.
