This 46-yr-old male was offered a choice of surgical designs prior to his session. Because of his above-average donor density, he was presented with either: 1) slightly lowering his hairline and thickening his frontal third, or 2) more aggressively advancing his hairline as well as reconstructing his temples. He opted for the latter during his 2391-micrograft session to the entire frontal region.
Patients are often given different options with respect to a surgical plan. As long as the anticipated donor-to-recipient ratio can accommodate the patient's expectations, the decision between the patient and physician should be a collaborative one.
