The Cutting Ball Theater is a non-profit innovative and high quality theater company that produces experimental new plays and re-visioned classics in the heart of San Francisco’s Tenderloin district. Cutting Ball is proud to commission and produce TENDERLOIN, a documentary play that will tell the stories of longtime residents of CBT’s neighborhood through their own voices, literally bringing the community into the theater and honoring the essence of the Tenderloin and its diverse inhabitants. Many people in the Tenderloin cannot afford to pay our ticket prices ($20-$35), which currently cover less than 20% of the actual cost of the production. We would like to offer “pay what you can” tickets to the Tenderloin community and expect these tickets to bring in an average of $5 per ticket. We would also like to offer free tickets for students and children from the community (ages 12-22). We need your help to support this project and make up the difference between what we would normally receive from ticket prices and what the people of this community can afford to pay.
