One can never get enough of that place. I wonder if Jarman's presence drew up that boat in such a perfect alignment with the rails and houses. I mean, it's just too perfect, it begs to be filmed.

Philip, I can't see your version. It says 'There has been a problem with uploading.'

Anyway, here's my take on it about a year old:

Hi! Mark, As usual, you have a great eye and nice compositions. Thanks for sharing. I have always believe of moving pictures. If there's no movement, it might pass of as a 'still'. Maybe keeping your compositions with some movement would enhance 'the moment'. Keep up the good work.
  • Londonmark Films 8 months ago
Hi Cheong, Thanks for the feedback, you have a point although Dungeness almost has no life at all, but I understand what you mean. Hope all is well with you are you going to NAB? best wishes Mark

How the hell you get that picture out of EX,
tell me the secret, I'll pay you.
all in MB looks, is that all?
well of course except for the knowledge and experience:)
  • Philip Bloom plus 8 months ago
Mark shot this on the F350 which has inferior picture quality, but has a better, longer lens on it. The light that day was superb, magic hour. But he has graded it.

I shot the same day with Mark on my EX3 and Cinemek G350 which Mark has linked to at the top

    Here is link again. vimeo.com/3932953

Shows you how you can make same location look so different.
  • Londonmark Films 8 months ago
Sony F350, I haven't graded the pictures that much as Phil suggested, alot was done in camera and helped by the time of day. Shot using cinegamma2 setting. Best wishes Mark

Nice! I've noted a sort of "not in focus effect" at the borders left and right of the picture, is it and HW effect or is added in post?
    Anyway, great job!

Love the warm colors in it and the images themselfs. You feel lonley when you watch it and like a person who makes a walk on this beach, like a person whi is not involved in this scenes.
The music supports that effect. Thanks
  • Londonmark Films 8 months ago
Well Emile, well done you got the message of the film, the music reflect the background radiation from the nuclear power stations also. Thanks for coming to view my work hope you come back soon best wishes Mark

This is fab. I've been fascinated with Jarman's house ever since I first visited it - the landscape is equally bleak and yet full of life. And the power station looming in the distance . . . . This film captures that precise mix of foreboding/awe I felt. Great stuff.
