Saw a lot of question about shallow Depth of Field. This is a quick test made in my driveway. I am about twenty feet away from my car side mirror. The background is another thirty feet behind the car.

Shot in Manual focus. AV F2.8. Graded a little with Magic Bullet Colorista.

    The quality is probably due to the fact that the footage was still. Have a read about compression but basically when a video is compressed the software takes the first frame and records that in full. Subsequent frames after that the software records the changes to that frame. In this case there were no changes from frame to frame so in effect the software didn't have to compromise to keep the desired bit rate. I hope that helps. It may be to do with 1920 x 1080 but i'm pretty sure it would be because of the compression.
