Berkley Center for Religion, Peace and World Affairs | Georgetown University

America Abroad Media (AAM) and Georgetown University’s Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs hosted a special "Beyond the Broadcast" panel discussion focused on Islamist movements in the Middle East. The event coincided with the release of AAM's one-hour America Abroad documentary, The Rise of Islamist Parties in the New Middle East, and featured Dr. Nathan Brown, Professor of Political Science and International Affairs at The George Washington University, and Dr. Jocelyne Cesari, Minerva Chair at the National Defense University and Senior Research Fellow at the Berkley Center. Discussion explored the challenges facing Islamist parties as they govern for the first time, and how their victories will impact relations between Arab countries and the world around them.
