On Saturday, May 21st, 110 bicycle riders set off across New Jersey on a journey to bring hope to those in need. Through their efforts they raised $25,000 to provide support services such as food, clothing and substance abuse supports. StreetLight’s inaugural ride began at Evangel Church in Scotch Plains with the century riders embarking on 100, 62, 45, 24 and 7 mile rides. Cyclists enjoyed scenic views from Union to Hunterdon County. The beautiful routes proved fun for the casual riders as well as challenging for those competitive riders that rode for the Mission. Riders were pampered with a hot breakfast and a home style barbecue with all the amenities. The fun continued with children’s activities provided by Evangel Church. Everyone enjoyed the contemporary Christian of The Darby’s from Rutherford Bible Chapel.
Riders are looking forward next years ride which is scheduled for Saturday, May 21, 2011. So mark your calendars and join us to Ride for the Mission. RideForTheMission.org.
