This is high-def dual system production done with a sub $300 SD780IS point and shoot still camera. It has a 720p mode which records H.264 video at 30 frame and 16/44.1 uncompressed audio. We shot dual-system with a Sound Devices 702T and slate-synced to show the difference that quality audio makes to improve the production. Note that Vimeo drops the frame rate to 24 frame and adds more compression.

The slate is an Ambient 301 Time Code slate. Ambient's and Denecke slates are standards in production work. As far as drift, in the short take, I detected no noticeable drift, which is expected. It isn't until you get out 10 minutes that you start to see drift in lip sync with consumer-type clocks.

The video you took using canon sd780 was awesome. Its good enough for normal taking like going for vacation and family videos and its sharp and clear. I gonna get one of this instead of creative vado hd or flip mino.

As far as image quality, just note the big light sources I added. You can see one in the reflection off the globe picture.

I'm really interested in a low cost 720p waterproof camera set-up and your video looks quite good. The sd780 with an underwater housing would come to a little over$400.00.
Ya, the camera audio is crap but you can always fix that in post. Thanks for the video!!!
