- Holding the camera is awkward
- The screen is quite so small so its hard to tell if you're in focus
- The screen doesn't tilt so its difficult to do certain shots
- There is no image stabilization
- The audio is terrible - though there are workarounds so you can plug in XLR mics etc
Though after saying all that...I'm loving this camera. Love the shallow DOF. LOVE the low-light capability. Amazing!
I have to remember what a camera shop guy told me: "Hey you do know... that this is a still camera that happens to shoot video"

on a HV30, but when I see this stuff I want to sell the whole thing and buy a 5D MKII - damn!
This looks like an awesome camera, but a pain to work with.
I'm thinking about getting a new camera. I have a Sanyo HD1a. I know there is a new Sanyo HD camera with 9mp pictures as well.
I was wondering what cameras you think are good to buy? Or what does anyone else think of a nice HD video camera with good still picture ability and small enough to carry around?
PS: i would also like a MKII please

I was thinking of getting one as well.
Maybe we should make it a project every sunday make a a CDO(Cinematography Day Out). It will be like the 52 weeks project on Flickr, but for DSLR cinematography. There is only one "problem" though . When you think as a "director" you miss out on good street photography opportunities. Did you take any pictures? Maybe it's a good thing...EVOLUTION.

I convert all the files to XDCAM HD using mpeg streamclip then edit using a XDCAM HD sequence.
Nice Vidz....Mark II in the right hands always never ceases to amaze.

Nice shots, but I have to say your editing was even better.
I bought the D90 (Nikon) back in December but havn't shot a lot of stills. :D

especially loved the black bird on the branch by the river, the house fly so clear on the green leaves, view over the shoulder of the woman eating lunch...
