Every once in a while, it's refreshing to see someone who allows the world to take over the lens as opposed to forcing one's will upon it. Well done, Cameron.

are you doing all your color correction/manipulation in FCE?
  •
  • Cameron Moll plus 7 months ago
@ forester08: No, the only place you can purchase Gotham is H&FJ as far as I'm aware.

@ Joshua Sweeny: Yes, though I didn't do a lot of color correction in this video. I could have and probably should have done more.

I love when people use simple tools to create beautiful things. This looks like it could have been shot by Sony or Miramax.

You should show this to everyone you know - every family member, every friend, every colleague, every future and past client and tell them: I'm a designer.

This, sir, is incredible. I am humbled and inspired.

    Ugh… So… Freaking… Jealous… :)

Truly, gorgeous. The music was perfect. I loved the emphasis on tight shots w/ the smattering of wider ones for the context. Good cuts to the music.

LOL, so basically I hate you. :)

Beautifully shot video. Has any color correction been done or is all the footage raw from the camera? The black and white looks exceptionally nice.
  •
  • Cameron Moll plus 7 months ago
@ Chris Cusson: The black and white was done using the Gradient Colorize and Add Noise filters in Final Cut Express.

  • What were your camera settings on this? This looks much better than some of the footage I'm getting out of my HG10. However, it's quite possible that this footage looks better because the subject matter is much better. :)

I love this! I've watched it several times and it makes me smile. -- I especially love the shot of the paving stones. Walking and walking and walking around Rome was wonderful - looking down a lot because of the uneven streets - I found that when I got home, one thing I missed most was the slate gray stones of the streets. Thank you!

I just ADORE (and admire) your Roma stuff. When I threw the coin into Fontana di Trevi, I did not think I'd be wishing to return to shoot it all again on a Canon HG10. The quality of your footage just blows my Mobile Movie out the water. With my Alban Hills wedding near Lago di Nemi, I was just trying to tell a little story with the Sistine Chapel, Rome Metro and Il Colosseo links. But, I mean it. Your magnificent film has inspired me to go back and shoot another. You should be their tourism ambassador:-)
