Peter Kennedy, Rebel Priest - part 1
Peter Kennedy is (or was) a Catholic priest in Brisbane for 28 years until his preaching of scandalous ideas like oneness, tolerance and inclusion upset the Catholic authorities and they fired him. This is part one of his story.

Have been listening for days now to the, now deceased, FR Anthony De Mello who too was a victim of "The ROMAN Catholic Church". I think he and your Peter would have had much fun together.
Keep up the good work!

Kennedy’s problem seems to be that whilst he no longer believes what the Catholic Church teaches, he seems to think he had a right to maintain control over a local Catholic parish. Cameron, I thought it would have been obvious to confront Kennedy on this issue. Or does being a rabid atheist mean you’re only interested in dumping on the Church? Maybe your belief that organized religion is evil blinded you to the obvious.
So much of what Kennedy says is complete nonsense, such as his claim that “Christianity had a Gnostic beginning”. It would be more correct to say that Christianity never completely defeated Gnosticism, of which the New Age is just a modern form.
And “catholic” with reference to the Church certainly doesn’t mean inclusive, as Kennedy would have us believe. If it did wouldn’t that mean even rabid atheists were welcome in the Catholic Church? Cameron your definition of “universal” is closer to the truth.
A detailed discussion on the meaning of “catholic” with reference to the Church can be found here: newadvent.org/cathen/03449a.htm
And a discussion on the term “Roman” with reference to the Church can be found here.

Both show again that Fr Kennedy seems to be good with spin but not so good with substance.
