Last month, The Fretboard Journal caught up with multi-instrumentalist Darrell Scott before his gig at Seattle’s Triple Door. Here, he performs a solo version of his tune “Hopkinsville,” from his 2011 album Long Ride Home.
For many years, Scott played and toured with an all-koa Taylor K20 dreadnought. Unfortunately, due to wear and tear (including a 24 hour period where the airlines completely lost it!), he’s retired that guitar from touring. He’s now playing a 12-fret Kopp Trailboss, built by luthier Kevin Kopp. Kopp is a former employee of Gibson’s custom acoustic shop in Bozeman, Montana.
Filmed by Matt Miles and Ryan Richter for The Fretboard Journal magazine. The Fretboard Journal is a keepsake quarterly publication dedicated to good music and guitars from around the world.
